While her performance was solid and her expressions were on point, sometimes her articulations and diction were too perfect for her character. Lethu Ntshinga performed the role of Lena Younger, the matriarch of the family. Aislinn Brophy’s performance of Beneatha Younger was also quite good, especially the African dance scene with Caleb Lewis. Ruth’s husband, played by Caleb Lewis, also did a phenomenal job in a very emotional and difficult role. The best performance by far was by Alyn Wallace who played Ruth Younger, though those who played opposite to her were also extremely talented. They were cleaning, walking, and even dancing through most of the script, bringing more liveliness to a household that has so many characters. The characters were rarely just standing and talking. The director, Darius Johnson, made sure that the performance had constant movement. The directing of this show was very impressive.
